The Circus

11 08 2010

It’s hard not to be in awe of the circus.  All the cool flips and tricks and lion-taming, I could go on all day.  But on my flight this morning, a new video from Jaime Cullum caught my attention (of course Jet Blue, and check out the video, “Wheels”, here).

I just found it so awesome and enthralling that these young kids are riding about and doing tricks on unicycles.  Yes, tricks and unicycles.  And it got me wondering…when kids grow up with the circus, it’s so easy to see their amazing skills.  It’s easy to celebrate their talents (juggling, flipping, motorcycle jumping).  When kids grow up in traditional schools, it’s not always as easy to identify their talents.

I think we might need to remedy that.
